Van Vleuten da equipa Mitchelton-Scott venceu o campeonato de mundo de contra-relógio em Innsbruck, na Áustria. A ciclista de 35 anos esforçou-se para liderar por 19 segundos na contagem do tempo intermediário antes de aumentar a sua margem e levar a medalha de ouro com uma diferença de 30 segundos em relação à segunda classificada, Anna van der Breggen (Holanda).
